Dr. Corina Bondi Received Two Prestigious Mentoring AwardsSafar Center Associate Director Corina Bondi, PhD received two highly prestigious awards for her exceptional work as a mentor at the Safar Center. First, she received the 2024 Landis Award for Outstanding Mentorship from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS). Given in honor of former NINDS director Dr. Story Landis, Dr. Bondi is one of five annual recipients of this award and remarkably, is the first ever at the University of Pittsburgh to receive it. Corina was also honored this month for her outstanding mentoring at the annual meeting of the Society for Neuroscience in Chicago, where she received the Faculty for Undergraduate Neuroscience (FUN) Mentor Award. Corina is a truly exemplary and highly sought-after mentor who regularly leads a cadre of young scientist in producing award-winning research in pre-clinical research in the field of traumatic brain injury at the Safar Center. A hearty congratulations to her for this well-deserved national recognition.
