Amanda Dave, MD received her bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience and Anthropology Cum Laude from Tulane University followed by a Master of Neuroscience degree at Tulane, studying Pre-Autonomic Neurons in the Paraventricular Nucleus of the Hypothalamus and Brainstem. She went on to receive an MD degree from Creighton University School of Medicine. Amanda then completed a residency in Pediatrics at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where she also served as Chief Resident. She joins our T32 now in her third year of Fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. She has an outstanding publication record including manuscripts in Hospital Pediatrics, Neuropediatrics, J Clin Med, Metabolites, and Pediatric Research, among other journals. She is currently studying metabolomic effects of short chain fatty acids in mice after traumatic brain injury under the mentorship of Safar Center Associate Director Dr. Dennis Simon.
