University of Utah School of Medicine Vice Dean for Research and Professor of Pediatrics, J. Michael Dean, MD, MBA, recently visited the Safar Center as a guest professor to both lecture and review our T32 and other trainees.

Dr. Dean, a key investigator on the recent Therapeutic Hypothermia in Pediatric Cardiac Arrest (THAPCA) trials addressing both in- and out-of-hospital cardiac arrest in children, presented a lecture titled “Lessons from the THAPCA Trials.” Dr. Dean also critiqued a series of presentations by both our T32 trainees and other trainees and junior faculty in our program.

We are grateful to him for both an outstanding lecture and to his helpful comments to our young investigators.
