| Hugues Yver, MD and Ericka Fink, MD, MS, were notified that their Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) Congress presentations on March 22, 2026, as part of the session “Demystifying Neuroprognostication After Pediatric Cardiac Arrest,” were selected for “The Best of SCCM Congress.” Dr. Yver presented “Improving Prognostic Accuracy Using Multimodality Models After Pediatric Cardiac Arrest” and Dr. Fink presented “Biomarkers for Predicting Outcomes After Pediatric Cardiac Arrest”.“The Best of SCCM Congress” hosted training program is an educational tool developed to bring the most impactful sessions from the SCCM’s annual Congress to the broader CCM and medical community.
Dr. Yver is a graduating PICU fellow, current NIH T32 Neurocritical Care Research Fellow, and on July 1 PCCM Clinical Instructor. His research focuses on multimodal modeling of pediatric cardiac arrest outcomes and innovative protein and metabolic biomarkers. His mentor, Dr. Fink, is a Professor of CCM, Associate Director for Pediatric Cardiopulmonary Arrest at the Safar Center, PCCM Research Director and Director of the Critical Illness Recovery for ChiLdrEn (CIRCLE) Program at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. “This award is a testament to the high-quality work and long-standing commitment of Dr. Fink and her mentee Dr. Yver on outcome prognostication and biomarker development in the field of pediatric resuscitation science” says Safar Center Director Emeritus Dr. Patrick Kochanek. “Congratulations to both of them!” |
