Robert Garman, DMV presented the Symposium lecture series on Neuropathology at the Safar Center

Dr. Robert Garman, an internationally renowned expert on veterinary neuropathology and Safar Center Guest Scientist, gave a series of lectures on the topic of neuropathology. The first lecture focused on neurocytology and identifying different brain cells in brain sections.  The last two focused on neuroanatomy in the rat model starting with rostral structures moving caudally to the cerebellum and brainstem with discussions touching on basic neurochemistry of the different regions, connectivity, and the difference between susceptibility to injury in different brain regions.  With a full house consisting of faculty, fellows, technicians, and students, the lecture series was largely informative and extremely well received.
