Safar Center Investigators featured in Science Magazine

Drs. Samuel Tisherman and Patrick Kochanek were featured in a special article titled “The Big Chill” which was published in the August 9, 2007 issue of Science Magazine. This extremely Pittsburgh-centric article by Jennifer Couzin, a reporter from Science Magazine, focused on the re-emergence of therapeutic hypothermia in the field of medicine. In addition, the work of Dr. David Adelson of Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh was also featured along with other key investigators in the USA who are currently involved in hypothermia-related research. Dr. Safar’s historical role in the early development and evolution of this important therapy was also highlighted.
